What Makes Them Unique: Aside from using the finest essential oils and recyclable products, EO also gives back to the community. They have joined forces with such companies as Homeward Bound, Delancey Street Foundation, Haight Ashbury Free Clinics, The Breast Cancer Fund, Amma and many more. Since EO has only been in business since 1995, they have embarked on a tremendous journey toward helping those in need. In such a short time they have done so much and I am excited to see where their future will lead.
The Good: The prices are reasonable and the products of excellent quality--which is so hard to find in today's market. EO stands behind their product line and if a customer is unhappy with any aspect of their experience with EO products they will either replace the products or refund the customer's money. This honest approach gives one a sense of security when purchasing from the EO line of products.
The Bad: The only thing negative about EO products is that they are not readily available in storefronts in all areas. To see if EO products can be found locally in your area, simply visit their store locator. Remember, even if you are unable to find a store that stocks EO products, you can still visit their online store and purchase direct from EO.
Normally, I wait until the end of my review to tell you the good and the bad about a product, however, I wanted everyone to know this upfront, as it isn't only what the company offers in its line of products that is impressive, but the company as a whole truly deserves the top spot~
With so many personal care products on the market today, one can become overwhelmed trying to decide the best one for their skin care needs. That is why I like products that are designed to be used on all skin types using the finest natural ingredients free from synthetic fragrances, chemicals or colors that can irritate the skin. Such products can be found within the EO product line.
EO (which stands for "essential oils") is a family owned company that uses a steam distilled process to pull the essential oils from flowers, leaves, etc, without disturbing its natural form. This results in natural botanical scents such as lavender, lemon, peppermint, mint, rose....and many more! Not only does the EO company take pride in the process in which they develop each product, but they do so with regard to the environment as well. The packaging for the EO products is derived from 100% paperboard (a recycled form of recovered paper) and most of the product's bottle containers are made from PCR (post consumer resin) derived mostly from recycled water bottles. All their products are cruelty-free which means they are not tested on animals and are certified vegan. Since EO uses essential oils, there is less incidence of allergic reaction, however, some of the products do contain honey and EO suggests always doing a patch test to see if any reaction occurs before full use of product.
For the purpose of this review, EO sent me a variety of their products!
All Purpose Soap: This has literally hundreds of uses. If it can be cleaned, this is the soap to use!! It comes in two sizes (16 oz and 32oz) and it only takes the tiniest drop to get the job done! We used it to clean the litter pan, wash the van, rinse the fruits and vegetables we got at our local farmer's market, and to clean the bathroom toilet. It did a great job and smells fresh and not like the chemicals found in my current cleaning brand. I liked the fact that I could use it on the items my pet would use without any concern that it would harm it. I did even attempt to wash my dishes with it, but the bubbles didn't last too long, although it left my hands ultra soft!
Liquid Hand Soap: I put this in the grown-ups bathroom because my children are known to waste all the hand soap cleaning Barbie hair or washing toy soldiers. I thought this would deter them from using it, but they found it, as they do anything I try to keep for myself! My kids LOVE this soap and they now ignore the namebrand soap I have sitting right beside it. Surprising enough, they haven't even attempted to waste it. I think it is because it is mom's "test soap", so they find it off limits to use for toys (have to remember that one). I really like the fresh scent of this and actually will be purchasing this in place of my current brand from this point on (I want to try the "Chocolate Mint" scent next....mmm). It comes in 12 oz, 32 oz or in the bulk size of 128 oz for easy refills!
Bubble Bath: One thing about bubble baths--I love them but I normally cannot use them as the fragrance causes a not so great reaction in my body. Therefore, I have avoided them for YEARS. I decided that I would try the EO bubble bath and see if I could tolerate the essential oils in it. I am so glad I did!! It was the BEST bubble bath ever and no reactions! Truly made my day and again, the scent is so fresh and clean, it immediately put me in relaxation mode! It is available in a variety of scents and comes in 12 oz size.
Hand Sanitizer: The hand sanitizer is something I carry around in my purse and our whole family loves it!! We received the Peppermint scent and although I loved the scent straight away, my daughter disliked it from the start. She hates anything that smells like peppermint though, but after a few times of all of using it around her, she eventually stuck out her hand and accepted a spray to her palm. Now, whenever I pull it out of my purse, her hand is right on up there with everyone else. It comes in Lavender and Eucalyptus as well and is available in a 2 oz size. It is much better than the typical hand sanitizer where all you can smell is the alcohol base, and not as thick as a typical gel type sanitizer.
I also received sample sizes of the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We took these with us on our vacation as they were the perfect size for traveling! If you aren't used to the essential oil scents, it might take a short while to get used to the scent of these products, but after you get used to them, you won't want anything else! The conditioner was what I was most hesitant about, as I have very fine hair that snarls easily and therefore I need a conditioner that can make my hair soft and manageable but not be so heavy that it weighs down my hair. This conditioner was actually very thick and covered my hair thoroughly yet rinsed clean and without the heaviness I feared. I could actually still smell the shampoo scent later in the day (not overwhelming) and I like that!
