Flexi-8 Review and Giveaway (Closed)

I have thin, fine hair and when I attempt to use traditional hair bows or accessories, they hardly ever hold my hair. The only thing that does hold my hair is those plastic claw clips (I use the small size and it holds up all my hair) but they give me horrible migraines and I'm always breaking them. When I heard about the Flexi-8 flexible barrette I was leery if they would actually work. I had purchased several hair design type products from infomercials that did absolutely nothing to hold my hair in place, so I was skeptical of the Flexi-8 barrette.

The package I received from Flexi-8 contained five sized barrettes...mini,  extra small, small, medium, and large. To know what size I needed, I visited the website and reviewed the video on sizing that helps determine the correct size for a particular hair type. For my hair, I would mainly use the mini and extra small sizes and for certain styles, I would use the small.

The Flexi-8 barrettes are so easy to use. Simply put hair into the desired style (for style ideas, watch the Hair Styles video) place the metal bar under the hair and bend the barrette over the bar until it clicks. The bar has three grooves to latch onto thus ensuring a perfect fit! Don't worry, the barrette is extremely flexible and the patented design is durable and made to withstand use after use....unlike that old claw clip I used to use!

I want to share how the Flexi-8 barrette was born. Missy Dorsey wanted the fancy beaded chopsticks she had seen, so she bought all the material to make them, but decided to purchase them from a popular retail store instead. Her husband, John Dorsey, was intrigued by the retail price on the chopsticks and thought he could design something similar at a fraction of the cost. He went to his garage and came up with the design which soon became a hit amongst friends, and later to retailers nationwide. He sold millions of his chopstick hair design--until times got tougher (like a lot of us are feeling in today's economy) and the retail sales declined.

His wife and him under went some hard times and weren't even sure how they were going to pay rent. It was then that his wife Missy told him "pull out some of your old beads and wire, make something and go sell it...NOW or else!"  He quickly began assembly on the Flexi-8 and it wasn't long before he was selling at Farmer's Markets and the like, and through pure determination... his personal sales efforts has resulted in the sale of Flexi-8 in over 38 countries!

What makes them so popular is that they are suitable for all hair styles: straight, curly, coarse, thin, and they do what they claim to do! They hold hair...and well! Even after wearing the Flexi-8 all day, they didn't slip and I wasn't burdened with the migraine that my old claw clip would give me. They even worked well in my daughter's hair and she didn't complain that it was uncomfortable and she was actually still wearing it when she came home from school (usually barrettes fall out of her hair by recess)!  They come in all sort of styles and designs and even have an o to be customized to your liking!

I cannot stress enough the importance of ordering the proper size. Since the Flexi-8 comes in a variety of sizes, it is important to know which size fits you best before ordering. Please watch the video and read the descriptions to learn which size is right for you!

I tweeted because I really want these!!! I hate my claw clips - they keep breaking! (Not sure how to post a link to my tweet but it should show up on your twitter page anyway)

I'm really glad I watched the video because I have such thick hair I would have guessed I needed a large clip, but now I think the medium would work great. My favorite is the medium Mighty celtic knot and antique accents. These clips are all gorgeous!

These are fantastic! My daughter and I both have thick but fine wavy hair so I am going to say the medium or large because we alternate between the pony and the french twist
