Working Together to Stop MRSA -The Equip Them Well Program

MRSA stands for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and is a bacterial infection that is hard to treat as it is resistant to traditional antibiotic treatment. It can enter the body through any open source, such as a cut, scrape, wound, or by any source that enters the body such as a breathing tube or catheter. Most people think that MRSA is a hospital acquired infection, but it can also be acquired in a public setting such as fire departments, day care centers, schools and gymnasiums where equipment is shared from person to person. It is a serious staph infection that can cause serious health complications.
